A boy who wants the best swing all to himself learns that sharing makes the fun twice as big.

At the island playground, the best thing of all was the big wooden swing. Ali dashed straight for it.

Up, up, up he swung — so high he could almost touch the palm leaves! A cheeky myna flapped along.

Then little Mausoom came by. “Could I have a turn, please?” he asked softly.

“Not yet — it’s MY swing!” said Ali. Mausoom sat down in the sand, all alone.

But swinging wasn’t much fun while Mausoom looked so sad. Even the myna gave Ali a beady stare.

Ali remembered how long waiting can feel. He hopped off. “Here — your turn now!”

Mausoom swung up with the biggest smile, and Ali gave him a gentle push. They both laughed.

So they took turns — one swings, one pushes, one swings, one pushes. Sharing made it twice as fun!

Soon all the children lined up, fair and friendly, and Ali helped the littlest one climb on.

Then they made up a brand-new game where nobody was ever left out.

When the sky turned gold, the tired, happy friends rested together by the quiet swing.

“Tomorrow we’ll share it again!” said Ali. And off they skipped home, the myna waving goodbye.
