An eager little girl learns that the sweetest part of Eid is helping, giving, and being together.
Eid had come at last! Fathimath spun in her new green dress while the whole house smelled of sweet treats.
“Can I have one NOW?” she begged, reaching for the shiny plate of sweets. She could hardly wait.
Dhatha smiled. “First we help, little one — then we feast.” She tied on Fathimath’s apron.
Together they stirred and rolled, and Fathimath got a little flour right on her nose.
They arranged the treats on pretty plates until everything looked just perfect.
“Now,” said Dhatha, “carry this plate to our neighbours.” Fathimath wanted to keep them… but she went.
Next door, the auntie’s face lit up. “Eid Mubarak!” she beamed. Giving felt warm and good.
So Fathimath shared all along the lane, and everyone smiled and blessed her.
Then the whole family gathered for the feast — laughter and lights and far too much food.
And do you know? The sweets tasted sweetest of all once they were shared. Fathimath gave Dhatha the very first piece.
Under the glowing lights, Fathimath hugged Dhatha tight. Her heart was as full as her tummy.
That night she fell asleep smiling. “Best Eid ever,” she whispered. Eid Mubarak, Fathimath.
