When his friend is too sad to play, a caring boy learns that a kind heart that listens is the very best gift.

Idris skipped to the playground, ready for a whole day of fun with his friend Rayyan.

But Rayyan sat all alone under the palm tree, his head down, looking very, very sad.

“Come and play!” called Idris. Rayyan shook his head. “I don’t feel like playing.”

Idris wondered what to do. Maybe Rayyan just needed a little cheering up.

He did a silly, funny dance — but Rayyan only sighed. That wasn’t the right thing.

So Idris sat down quietly beside him. “What’s wrong?” he asked gently. “You can tell me.”

“I lost my favourite shell,” Rayyan whispered. “The blue one my grandpa gave me.”

“I’m so sorry,” said Idris, and he meant it. “Let’s look for it together. I’ll help you.”

They searched the sand, high and low, side by side, all afternoon long.

And there — half-buried by the swing — the pretty blue shell! “You found it!”

Rayyan’s smile came right back, big and bright. “Thank you for staying with me, Idris.”

A kind heart that listens and helps is the very best friend of all.
